Every weekend, after Stephen's restaurant closes for business, proprietor and staff sit down for their weekly poker game. Stephen's son Carl arrives at the game. He is heavily in debt and by way of attempting to pay it off, introduces the shadowy card shark Ash into the game, knowing he will clean out his father and his friends. What follows is a revealing evening played out over a game of poker laying bare personal obsessions, relationships, addiction and the overriding need to win at any cost.
