Terence Rattigan's drama is a study of obsession and the destructive power of love.Greta Scacchi plays Hester Collyer, the daughter of a clergyman and wife of a judge, who is foundering in the closing stages of a hopeless affair. Freddie Page, herlover, a handsome but shallow ex-Battle of Britain pilot, is out of his depth in their relationship, overwhelmed by the strength of an emotion he is incapable of reciprocating.Scacchi's film credits include Presumed Innocent, Emma and The Player. On television she played Margaret Thatcher in Jeffrey Archer: The Truth and received an Emmy Award for her performance in Rasputin: Dark Servant Of Destiny.Director Edward Hall is the Artistic Director of the award-winning all-male Propeller Company. This is a truly great evening in the West End Charles Spencer, Telegraph. Greta Scacchi gives the performance of her career as Terence Rattigan s anguished heroine. A great performance in one of the greatest plays of the last century. Charle
